mine’s a day late

but really I’ve been a few months late.

Because of where I live I notice that some blogs have been blocked.  Don’t know why and will not go asking!!

Anyway I participate in Corner View but haven’t been lately, but there is always a way.

So I managed to find out what the theme was for yesterday by visiting the blogs of those I know who do CV… and so here’s my post..

If your’re wondering what Corner View is – well it’s where bloggers from all over the world post/blog about their corner.  There is usually a theme and you interpret it anyway you like.

This weeks theme – Inspiration!

And my inspiration is……..

W – O – R – D – S.

words inspire me. beautifully and poetically written.   Quotes, little saying.  They get me thinking.  They inspire me.

like these words..

Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, work, play and to look up at the stars…..

Henry Van Dyke.

I was on a beach in Thailand and the calendar changed for us in Atyrau.

it was the first day of Spring.  a time for renewal, rejuvenation and regrowth!!

Yippee….  that makes me happy!!

I’m an island girl and cold weather just isn’t right for me.  I have to admit this winter has been a mild one.  Not too cold and not much snow either.  which was disappointing but hey at least we didn’t have to trek through snow just to go out to the markets.

And now it’s the 3rd day of April.  Gosh the days seem to be going by fast.  So much to do in such little time.  I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. But one day at a time.  little by little I’ll get things done.

I really should make a list…..yep.  That’s what I’m going to do, make a list.

how about you?  Are there obvious signs of the change in seasons?  Are you spring cleaning yet?  Do you have to do lists?

Do share…

and they’re back ….

at school!!

I’m not going to lie  - I did a happy dance this morning.  To be honest I think my kids too are happy to be in Atyrau, back at school and not on a plane!

They are their happiest when they’re home.  And everything goes back to normal.

And as for me, well I’m happy to get back to schedules, having to do lists, exercise, homework and eating well!

Yes, eating well!

anyway how are things with you all?  I’ve missed visiting many of you and just seeing what’s happening on your side of the world!!

take care….

happiness to you all!!

what can I say…..

I ‘heart’ Thailand.

postcard - thailand

So whenever I can, I will go back.  And that’s exactly what I did.

We’ve been there for the past 2 weeks and it was wonderful as always.   We went for a little R&R but we also had some things we had to get done.  Things like medicals, dental visits and most importantly to check out our storage unit.

Well we’re now back in Atyrau and this is it…..not long to go now!!

for those of you who know already you know what I mean – my blogger friends I’ll share soon…

hope your month of March was awesome.  Mine was, and now I’m ready for April and of course warmer weather.

hugs….

p.s. I hope to be a little more consistent with blogging !!

happy Wednesday

dear friends, here’s some flowers for you!  I hope you like them.

well it’s been such a long time since I’ve visited my own blog and posted something, let alone come to all your beautiful spaces.

Life has just been really really busy.

The last time I was here I announced a challenge I was going to do….well it didn’t happen.  I stopped at 20 miles.  I injured myself playing floor hockey and it’s now been 5 weeks.  Yep – 5 weeks with a torn calf muscle.

It’s been no fun at all but life goes on.

Well here’s my month of Feb in pictures..

But most of the month was spent planning and organizing our community Mardi Gras Masquerade Party.  We had 140 plus guests and night of fun and many memorable moments.

we made our own center pieces for the tables.

This wonderful piece was painted by one of the ladies in our camp…..

photo (69)And these beautiful ladies are my partners in party planning.  It was stressful at times but we had a good time!

And of course my dear husband who always has my back when it comes to helping me plan these community parties!!

Well February was busy and so far March has started off the same.

I guess that’s just the way things are right now.

hugs to you all out there!!

the first mile always hurts…

so today I laced up and ran.

photo (33)

how could I not – the weather in Sydney has just been gorgeous and it would have been crazy of me to head to the gym and run on a treadmill.  So I got my husband out of bed and we both went for a run.

It’s been a while since I last ran and so that first mile hurt.  And I mean everything hurt.  my knees, my toes, my thighs…..my head!! (LOL).  just kidding!

But I always find that first mile to hurt the most and because I know now that they are not serious ‘hurts’  I push through ….and thankfully I do cause if I didn’t I would have come back to the hotel and just quit!

Every mile after that first one hurts felt  better…..we went on to do 6!  22 more miles to go for my challenge!!

Welcome to February

photo (32)

wow how time is passing by.

Hard to believe that we are already in Feb.  well we have been busy and right now we’ve travelled again and are in Sydney.  I don’t enjoy this kind of travelling much cause we come with 5 passengers and return with 4.

It’s always difficult but we try to remain positive and look at this separation in 10 week increments.

So it’s the beginning of another month, and it’s healthy heart month.

I’ll be joining the PE guy who is the PE teacher for  my kids school  and doing the challenge – 28 miles in 28 days.  You can walk or run or do both.

either way, I want to throw out the challenge to just get moving!

hoping you join me and the rest of the kids!
